University of the West is proud to offer classes and workshops to the wider community through Community Education.  Registration is easy and allows you access to real -time class sessions and/or online video lectures.

Community Education classes and lectures are provided on a no-credit basis.  If you are interested in taking a class for college credit, please register through OPEN ENROLLMENT»

This special seminar will gather a group of leaders, facilitators, and practitioners from a variety of traditions and cultural backgrounds to empower each other and create meaningful and powerful connections.

Open to women, nonbinary, and transgender individuals.

Buddhist Studies & Artificial Intelligence

Lewis R. Lancaster

Provides hands-on training in artificial intelligence (AI) that involves the construction of Bots on three projects: (1) Buddhist bibliography; (2) Chinese-English Buddhist Dictionary; (3) personal research datasets. Working Bots, students will learn how to make use of AI for summaries, structure, and analysis of their own material.

CE-MED826 – Meditative Practices

Dr. Joanne Kwoh-Maysami

Wednesdays 6:00pm – 7:30 pm

This 6-week in-person course will teach you how to lead meditative practices in a 1:1 or small group setting.
Topics each week are:

  • coping with depression and anxiety
  • empowering women
  • empowering immigrant communities
  • empowering LGBTQIA+ teens/youth
  • grief process – for both humans and pets
  • conclusion with certification process

FREE without certification. If you are interested in receiving a non-credit certificate, there is a $25.00 fee. Attendance of 4 out of 5 sessions, not including the last session, is mandatory to receive certification. Space is limited.
