Frequently Asked Questions |
|
Are forms available on the Web? Yes. Students can download needed forms at www.uwest.edu/financialaid/forms. Forms are also available in Financial Aid Office. Students who do not have Internet access or are not in the local area may request paper copies to be mailed.
Must I be registered for classes prior to receiving financial assistance? Yes. No funds are released until you are enrolled at least half-time.
I will only be enrolled as a half- or three-quarter time student. Will I be able to qualify for financial aid? Yes. If you indicated on the FAFSA or on the University of the West application for financial aid that you intended to be part-time, review the enrollment status on your Award letter to ensure that it is correct. If you reported your status as full-time and now your plans have changed, notify the Financial Aid Office. Your eligibility for aid will be reevaluated and a revised Award letter will be mailed to you. Programs that require full-time enrollment will be cancelled. Only Pell Grant is available to students enrolled less than half time.
If I am in default on my student loans, what do I do now? If you are in default on a previous student loan, you may not receive any financial aid until the loan is repaid or satisfactory repayment arrangements are made. Contact your lender or servicer of your loan(s) immediately.
