| Former UWest Dean still world-traveling Buddhist scholar |

ROSEMEAD – Calif., Oct. 26, 2010 – Former University of the West Dean of Academics Dr. Ananda Guruge will give the keynote address at the World Fellowship of Buddhists 25th General Conference on Nov. 16 in Sri Lanka. Dr. Guruge will also be a moderator of the International Symposium on Reconciliation and Peace in connection with the Sixtieth Jubilee celebrations of the World Fellowship of Buddhists in Colombo, Sri Lanka. UWest founder Venerable Master Hsing Yun will also attend the event as an Honorary President of the fellowship. Dr. Guruge, a prominent author of Buddhist histories and text books, will give his speech on “The Buddha and Reconciliation”. During his time with UWest, Dr. Guruge was instrumental in achieving WASC accreditation for the campus. |
