DAVID LINCOLN

Chairman of the Board of Directors, Claremont Lincoln University

David Lincoln was born in Cleveland, Ohio, and attended school in Arizona. After earning his BS in Engineering and MS in E.E. from California Institute of Technology, David worked as an aerospace engineer before assuming responsibility for numerous family businesses. The family roots in Ohio are based in the Lincoln Electric Company in Cleveland, founded by his father in 1895. It is the world’s leading manufacturer of arc welding and cutting equipment. His companies and other interests have been tremendously successful, not only due to David’s entrepreneurship, business acumen and management practices, but also his ethical commitment to advancing the common good. In his clear and concise style, David often says, “Good ethics is good business.” David has served on boards including John C. Lincoln Hospital, Thunderbird – The American Graduate School of International Management, and Arizona State University Foundation. He and his wife, Joan, have four children.
